It all stems from our childhood. We’re a third generation family in the food service business with a definition of life that begins and ends with the Golden Rule. Grandpa George Washington Vinyard and his wife, Mary Waters (married 1902-1952), ran a corner grocery store in Oklahoma City where customers were friends and neighbors who got fresh meat, penny candy, and heart-felt humor with every visit.
They were simple, hard-working people who loved their children and taught us some basic principles:
- Do the best you can.
- Be nice to everybody.
- Be honest.
- Sell a good product for a fair price.
- Love life. Laugh frequently.
- Put people first, especially family.
Vinyard Fruit & Vegetable Co. buys the quality of food we would want our families to eat, stores and packages it with care, and delivers it to our customers each day. Our customers are our friends and some are our neighbors. George Washington Vinyard wouldn’t have had it any other way, and neither will we.
The capabilities of Vinyard Fruit & Vegetable Co. are limited only by one’s imagination. Our processing facility has enhanced our already unique ability to meet each and every one of our customers’ needs. In addition, our 84,000 square feet of refrigerated warehouse space has allowed us to further expand our repacking operations. Our state-of-the-art product development and test kitchen empowers Vinyard to improve existing products and explore new opportunities with our customers. Vinyard Fruit & Vegetable Co. has the physical capacity, expertise and leadership necessary to continue to meet the ever-changing demands of the food industry well into the future.
Vinyard has the versatility to do many things that others can’t. We are large enough to handle most any order on short notice, yet agile enough to fill almost any special request. So, whether the order is 2500 cases of one item, or 10 pounds of another, Vinyard Fruit & Vegetable Co. can and will fill the order.
Essentially, Vinyard Fruit & Vegetable Co. can do it all: Fresh-cut or bulk produce, Vinyard label or private label, custom sizes, packs, mixes, or recipes. You name it.
